K9 Knives is the mid-tech line from custom maker Tom Krein rendering his iconic designs in a more economic machine ground construction. The Model 6 is a drop point hunter that works well as an outdoor field knife or tactical fixed blade thanks to a 3/16″ full tang construction paired with Tom’s versatile and ergonomic handle design. This version comes with a stonewashed D2 tool steel blade and hole milled blasted coyote tan G10 handle scales.

Blade: Machine ground D2 tool steel is delivered in a utilitarian drop point profile with a rising mid-height saber grind and tip swedge that offer balanced performance on this rugged full tang blade. An index guard and jimped thumb ramp gives added safety and sight free indexing, while the blasted and tumbled stonewashed finish is discreetly non-reflective and hides wear from use.

Handle: Ergonomically designed, blasted G10 handle scales are contoured for comfort and milled with speed holes for weight reduction and traction. This handle imparts unparalleled comfort with a neutral design that works in any grip. The scales are attached with stainless black oxide hardware and a large hole is provided for lanyard attachment.

Carries via a custom molded black Kydex sheath with large Tek-Lok.

D2 Tool Steel: Used as a die cutting steel since WW II, D2 offers a good combination of hardness and wear resistance with moderate toughness and stain resistance. High chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) gives D2 better corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels.
