Striking new Lightspeed Excel Frame Lock by maker Steven Kelly of S.K. Knives features a very cool Black and Red lava-looking blended Carbon Fiber. This is a long, yet slender lightweight carry folder.
The Blade: Mr. Kelly chose CPM-154 stainless for this one and compound ground it into a spear point blade with high polish satin finishing. Dual titanium thumb studs operate the beast that glides along on phosphor bronze washers for smooth operation. The S.K. logo is engraved on the front.
The Handle: This is a two piece frame construction. The presentation being a blend of black and red carbon fiber that Steve has machined grooves into for texture. The same texturing continues on the back frame lock of blasted titanium. All is secured together using Steve’s TiConnector Titanium hardware. Ti barrel spacers and rock texturing on the lock release and cutout round out the Lightspeed Excel.
The Lightspeed Excel is an excellent every day carry large sized folder. It’s design is ergonomic and practical for those with larger hands looking for a lighter carry. Steve outfitted this custom with a titanium tip up pocket clip. It ships in a SK Knives zipper pouch.
