Marfione Custom Super Sigil MK6 Abalone Mirror M390

Marfione upsized the Sigil into the new Super MK6 model for those wanting a larger blade and upped Inlays. The new Super MK6 is about 10% larger than the original sigil model, and the result is a much better feel in the hand. This version has a Mirror Polished finish, Abalone inlayed M390 blade and plate.

The Blade: The blade of the Sigil MK6 is a long wharncliffe style with a pronounced Munroe thumb hole now filled with abalone and wonderful flipper action. It is hollow ground and honed to a razor edge and features plenty of jimping on the top of the spine. As expected, flipping action is smooth and consistent with the blade running on sealed ball bearings. This one sits well centered when closed and lock up is solid.

The Handle: Like most of Deryk Munroe’s knives, this one has tons of detail in the handle with extra machining done to get the details just right. The 6AL4V titanium is double vapor blasted and accented with blue titanium hardware and lots of colorful abalone. There is an abalone plate to prevent lock overtravel, replaceable lock face and fully milled titanium clip all of which follow the knife’s theme. Finished with a flamed backstrap serialized #008.

The Super Sigil MK6 ships in a display box with microfiber cloth and baggie, zipper pouch and signed Certificate of Authenticity plate. 

About M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. M390 also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid problems by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
