This piece has a Tanto point blade with a compound grind and unique Hamon pattern, titanium frames and black carbon fiber with red carbon fiber inlays.

Blade: Craig crafted this beautiful tanto point using tough W2 tool steel. It’s known for its ability to create a beautiful hamon when properly heat treated and Craig has done it right. This blade is compound ground with a hollow ground edge and flat ground tip and upper swedge. Floating along on a set of ball bearing pivots the blade cycles smooth for flawless operation.

Handle: Full length titanium liners support stunning carbon fiber scales with red carbon fiber inlays all attached with titanium Torx hardware. Each handle is completed with dual barrel spacers for a fully open construction making for easy cleaning and maintenance. The handle is substantial yet lightweight with a heft that you don’t often find in production balisongs. A titanium latch, also on bearings, is easy to operate and stays out of the way while cycling.

W2 Tool Steel: W2 is a Water hardening tool steel popular with custom knife makers, beginners and seasoned experts alike. Maximum working hardness is in 63-65 HrC, W2 has good edge holding and cutting performance with a thin edge and moderate toughness depending on the heat treatment. High carbon, low chromium gives no added corrosion resistance. Maintain accordingly.
