The Aaron Frederick Custom Fixed Blade Tanto is as functional as it is stylish and has a truly custom appeal for users and collectors alike. This version has a hand rubbed satin finished blade of CPM-154, raw copper bolsters and Green Linen Micarta handle scales.
Brand new directly from Aaron Frederick.
Blade: Composed from a full tang of CPM-154 stainless steel, the tanto point blade features a hollow grind and attractive swedge. Hand rubbed horizontal satin finish provides for an upscale custom look while maintaining user friendliness. A thumb ramp protrudes slightly and then scoops back down toward the point of the blade making for several comfortable and natural grip points.
Handle: Contoured Green Linen Micarta handle scales are slightly raised from the raw copper bolsters, a finishing feature also prevalent on the knives of Aaron’s father-in-law, Mr. John W. Smith. The raw copper bolsters will naturally patina and offer excellent character, complimenting the organic texture of the Micarta scales. A large hole in the pommel end is provided for lanyard attachment.
Sheath: Handmade tan leather sheath with belt loop for carry.
CPM-154: CPM-154 is a particle metallurgy version of 154CM that benefits from the refinement in the PM process providing it with an increase in toughness and easy of finishing. CPM-154 takes a very fine edge and is highly corrosion resistant. Edge retention is going to be on-par with CPM S30V while being easier to resharpen. A great all-around blade steel.
